Holograph manuscript volume containing prayers, meditations, and autobiographical religious and vocational reflections written by the minister of Kirkstead, Lincolnshire, between 1713 and 1726. Contents include instances of Divine Providence in the life of the author; "Dissertations and meditations"; private prayers; "Evidences of my call to ye Ministry" and "Evidences of my call to Kirkstead"; and an entry headed "Novem.r 5. 1726" in which the disadvantages and advantages of serving at Kirkstead are summarized and the advantages of a call to Pudsey, near Leads, are examined.
